California Games
California Games was released by Epyx in 1987 and was another quality game
following their Olympic game theme. There are events such as Surfing, BMX
Bike Racing, and the Foot Bag. If you've never played this game I would
highly recommend trying it out. Click

Spy vs Spy

Spy vs Spy was released in 1984 by First Star Software and was based on
the cartoon from MAD Magazine. The object of the game is to control one
of the two spies and attempt to collect various items and escape in a
secret airplane. At the same time the other spy is trying to accomplish
the same thing, but you can slow him down by setting various traps such
as an acid trap or a bomb. This game is extremely fun to play with
another person but even by yourself it is still a great game.

Super Cycle

Super Cycle was released by Epyx in 1986 and is one of the best motorcycle
racing games made for the C64. The courses at the beginning start off
easy but as you make it further in the game you will have to avoid things
like oil slicks, road construction, and water on the road. You have a
certain time limit to make it to the end of each course that depends on
the difficulty setting you chose. Overall this game is much better than
alot of the other racing games made for the c64.

Junior Pacman

Pacman]](images/jrpacman.gif)
Junior Pacman was released in 1988 and is the typical pacman game with
a slightly faster pace. The ghosts seem to be more intelligent
in this version of pacman and the power pellets don't last very long.
Overall this game is much tougher than the normal pacman games.

Squish 'em
![[Squish
'em]](images/squish.gif)
Squish 'em is a fairly simple game that I used to play for hours on end.
The main object of the game is to climb to the top of a building,
squishing various monsters along the way. The game starts out easy at
level 1 but as you increase in levels the monsters speed up and you have
to avoid falling objects such as hammers and televisions. Even though the
gameplay is very simple and the graphics are not the greatest in the
world, this game is very fun to play.

Super Mario Bros
Super Mario Bros was never actually released by a game company. This game
was originally The Great Giana Sisters, which was released in Europe but
soon pulled off the shelves when Nintendo noticed that it was too similar
to their game. An American cracking group took the game and changed the
sprites to look more like Super Mario Bros, and here is the result. This
game is better than Nintendo's Super Mario Bros and if you've never played
it, here is your chance.

Green Beret
Green Beret is another fun game that was released in Europe. You might
have played this game at the video arcade or on the NES though, where it
was called Rush N Attack. The c64 version is actually a tough game, and
this is one instance where the cracked version of the game is better than
the original, because it includes an unlimited lives trainer.

Stratego
![[Stratego]](images/stratego.gif)
Stratego was released by Accolade and is based on the board game of the
same name. You can select different terrains to play on and you can save
your game so that you don't have to play it all in one sitting. The
command interface uses pull-down menus, which is a nice feature, and
overall the graphics are adequate for the gameplay.

Skate or Die
Skate or Die was released by Electronic Arts in 1987 and is probably the
best skateboarding game made for the c64. You can choose different events to
participate in, such as the pool joust or high jump, and if you haven't played this
game before, then try it out now.
